Double-board-certified plastic surgeon James M. Nachbar, MD, FACS, is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
He is recognized as a leader and innovator by his peers, having been elected President-Elect of the Arizona Medical Association, and having been Program Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency Training Program at the University of New Mexico, Chair of the Emerging Trends (“Hot Topics”) Committee of the ASPS, and Chair of the ASPS AI Task Force.
He is the inventor of the trademarked Post-Baby Tune-Up®, which was the original “Mommy Makeover”, before anyone else was doing Mommy Makeovers.. He is also a leader in the No-Drain Tummy Tuck in Arizona, and has done all of his Tummy Tucks using the No-Drain technique since 2008.
Dr. Nachbar brought the first 3-D Breast Surgery simulator to Arizona, in June 2008, and is currently using his third-generation 3-D simulator to show women what they may look like with breast augmentations of various types and sizes.
Dr. Nachbar has received multiple awards, including “The 100 Best Doctors in Arizona” for 2025 and 2026 by AZ Business Magazine.

Body Contouring
Liposuction, one of the most common plastic surgery procedures, is used to remove stubborn fat from problem areas, including the abdomen, hips, thighs, and butt.
Dr. Nachbar’s innovative No-Drain Tummy Tuck—also referred to as a drainless abdominoplasty—removes loose skin and tightens the abdomen, especially after weight loss or pregnancy, without the use of uncomfortable drains. Although he did not invent drainless abdominoplasty, he has used it exclusively since 2008, and probably has the most experience doing no-drain tummy tuck in Arizona.
Brazilian Butt Lift
When you want to enhance your curves, a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) can help you achieve your ideal look. During a BBL, Dr. Nachbar will transfer fat from one area of your body to your buttocks to make them plumper and more defined. Another option is the placement of a buttock implant.
Post-Baby Tune-Up®
Dr. Nachbar uses a combination of procedures to help women return to their pre-pregnancy form. The most common combination includes:
- Breast lift, with or without implants
- No-Drain Tummy Tuck
- Liposuction
- Thigh and arm lifts
Some patients may wish to add a labiaplasty to their Tune-Up. Dr Nachbar can correct the shape or size of your labia through the removal of excess or saggy skin. This is an ideal option if you are experiencing discomfort or embarrassment due to excessive labia tissue.

Amazing doctor - I feel so much more confident - I came to Dr. Nachbar for a scar revision for my tummy tuck. I had been turned down previously by two different doctors who dismissed my concerns by either stating what I wanted was not necessary or could not be done. Then I discovered Dr. Nachbar! Not only did he listen and validate my concerns but he also wholeheartedly agreed that what I was asking for was in fact reasonable and that it could be revised.
